Earlier this year we brought news that Margin Call and All is Lost writer/director J. C. Chandor’s next project will be A Most Violent Year. At the time not much was known about the project and it is still a well kept secret. However news has recently surfaced that Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty, Lawless) is in talks to join the cast.
Chastain would co-star with existing cast member Javier Bardem (Skyfall, No Country for Old Men). Chastain and Bardem both had phenomenally successful 2012s; while Chastain received an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of CIA analyst Maya Lambert, Bardem was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild award for his interpretation of Bond villain Raoul Silva.
While Chastain is currently filming Christopher Nolan project Interstellar, Chandor’s ocean survival film All is Lost will hit theaters on October 18.
A Most Violent Year is set to begin filming this fall in New York City.
