Jeremy Strong (Succession) was able to talk to the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, about portraying him in the new film The Social Reckoning, a sequel to The Social Network, which had Jesse Eisenberg portray the CEO. When Strong was casted for the role, he reached out to Zuckerberg. He recalled,

I wrote to him — I’m probably going to give Sony an aneurysm — I sent him an email. Just to say that I take this responsibility very seriously, and the veracity of it seriously, and I’m approaching it with respect.

However, he did not reveal what the full response he got back. The actor added,

It feels incredibly fraught to talk about the movie, to talk about Mark and being the person who is playing Mark and representing Mark in a sense to the world and to posterity. I feel an enormous sense of weight and responsibility.

Strong is joined by Jeremy Allen White (The Bear) and Mikey Madison (Anora). The ladder commented on Strong during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, stating,

Jeremy and I spent zero time together filming — we were totally separate. So the first I heard was the trailer with you guys, but it’s incredible. I thought it was great, but that’s what I expect of Jeremy. He’s so talented.

The Social Reckoning will be released in theaters on October 9th.
