The first photo of Jeremy Allen White as music legend Bruce Springsteen has been released.

White will star in 20th Century Studios’ Springsteen biopic, Deliver Me From Nowhere, directed by Scott Cooper. The film adapts the novel Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska by Warren Zanes. As indicated by the novel’s subtitle, the film will chronicle the creation of Springsteen’s acclaimed 1982 Nebraska album.

20th Century Studios teased the first look at White’s portrayal in a post on X.

Director Scott Cooper reflected on Nebraska, noting its “profound impact” on him and his work. “Through themes of despair, disillusionment and the struggles of everyday Americans, Bruce has formed an unparalleled legacy, painting an unflinching portrait of the human condition,” Cooper said. “Yet, amidst the darkness, a sense of resilience and a sense of hope shines through, reflecting an indomitable spirit. That’s the Bruce I’ve come to know and love and will honor with this film.”

Cooper’s past work includes 2009’s Crazy Heart, another music-centric story. Star Jeremy Allen White is best known for his work in the Emmy-winning series The Bear and for his role in the A24 wrestling biopic The Iron Claw. The supporting cast for Deliver Me From Nowhere includes Jeremy Strong, known for his role in the popular drama series Succession. Strong will portray Jon Landau, Springsteen’s longtime manager.

Deliver Me From Nowhere follows a recent Hollywood trend of musician biopics, following Austin Butler’s performance as Elvis and Bob Marley: One Love, which stars Kingsley Ben-Adir as the reggae icon. Timothée Chalamet’s Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, is set for a Christmas 2024 release.

Deliver Me From Nowhere will arrive in theaters in 2025.
