It’s go big or go home for Jennifer Lopez! After signing the massive deal with Netflix, Lopez is on a roll, and it doesn’t look like she any intention of stopping.
Deadline reports that she is slated to star and produce Netflix sci-fi thriller Atlas that Brad Peyton (Rampage) will direct.
Aron Eli Coleite wrote the most recent draft that is based on the original script from Leo Sardarian. The story follows Atlas, a woman battling for her life in a future where an AI soldier has concluded that the only way to stop conflict is to destroy all of humankind. Atlas is left with no choice but to work with the one thing she fears the most in order to outthink this renegade AI – another AI.
“I’m so honored to be working with Jennifer, Elaine, and the rest of the team at Nuyorican Productions, along with our partners Joby and Tory at Safehouse,” Peyton said to Deadline. “Having the chance to direct Jennifer in the title role of this movie is a dream come true, as I know she’ll bring the incredible strength, depth, and authenticity we’ve all come to admire from her work. Furthermore, Jeff and I are so excited to be back working with Scott, Ori, and the entire team at Netflix. They have been nothing short of amazing to work with, and we are blessed to have the opportunity to make another movie on the service.”
Atlas marks the third film that Lopez will be working on with Netflix. The first two projects, The Mother and The Cipher, will also star and be produced by Lopez.
