Jennifer Lawerance’s ‘The Wives’ To Be Produced By Apple And A24

Jennifer Lawerance is set to produce her own Real Housewives-inspired film with Apple and in collaboration with A24 titled The Wives. This murder mystery will also star Lawerance, who will also be assisting with the production alongside Justine Ciarrocchi, Jeremy O. Harris, and Josh Godfrey. All are set to bring this intriguing concept to life very soon. The film’s finer details are all mostly still for studio eyes, but what we do know can tell a lot of what to expect.

The Real Housewives inspiration will likely play into the film’s overall aesthetic and tone with other reality television influences seeing as Lawerance is a vocal fan of the long-running TV franchise. While not much can be divined from the inspiration regarding the film, the screenwriters Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley are working closely with producers to make the film a reality and are staying as hushed on the project as Harris and Lawerance.

Lawerance will be accompanied by both a veteran crew and an unknown cast seeing as she is currently the only known actress attached to the project. Harris has shared on X that the project had been long in development and that all the quietness surrounding the project is to help bolster the air of mystery. The Wives still has no official release date, but its status as a passion project for its producers all but ensures that hard work and love are being poured into this project. The film is expected to appear in theaters with an eventual Apple TV release as well after the premiere.
