Since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, many fans of the Deadpool films have speculated what the fate of the third movie would be. But, with the film on the horizon, fans will get their answer soon.
Although production on the movie has halted for the time being due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, steady stream of buzz has continued to be generated around the film. A picture of Hugh Jackman, returning as Wolverine, and sporting his classic yellow jumpsuit, has already made its rounds on the internet. More recently, speculation has ramped up regarding the character of Elektra, according to Hollywood Reporter, and the return of Jennifer Garner.
Jennifer Garner brought Marvel’s famous assassin to life in 2003’s Daredevil, alongside Ben Affleck playing the titular hero. Although that film wasn’t considered a hit, Garner returned to the role for a solo outing in 2005’s Elektra. Similarly, that one wasn’t a hit either, but it still retains its place in superhero film history for featuring an actress in a lead role.
Her inclusion in the story could hint at a multiverse angle, especially considering how many recent Marvel films have delved into the multiverse. Garner was recently seen in The Adam Project, directed by Shawn Levy, who is directing Deadpool 3.
Hollywood Reporterstated that Marvel could not be reached for comment.
