People are going to see a lot of Jennifer Connelly next year. Well, relatively speaking – it doesn’t take much to exceed the single movie (Stuck In Love) she’s appeared in the last two years combined, and that a very small limited release. But with three films in post-production now, including Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, Connelly looks to be reclaiming the same heights she was hitting in the early- to mid-2000s when she was starring in the likes of Requiem for a Dream, A Beautiful Mind, Hulk, and House of Sand and Fog. With news that she’ll be playing a lead role in her husband Paul Bettany’s directorial debut, it’s looking like she’ll even hit a similar distribution between the indie films she seems to love and a couple bigger pictures.
The one other thing that has come to light is that Anthony Mackie, recently seen alongside Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson in Pain and Gain, will also be in Shelter. Mackie is certainly an actor on the rise, with roles in The Fifth Estate, Runner, Runner, and Captain America: Winter Soldier that should help propel him further into the public eye.
