Emmy winning actress Jennifer Aniston looks likely to headline a new film entitled The Fixer. Deadline broke the news that Fox 2000 has acquired the project, a bio of professional sports public relations whiz Denise White. The pitch came from Oscar nominated Dallas Buyers Club scribe Melissa Wallack.
If it all works out Aniston will portray White, a former Miss USA contestant who climbed the ranks in the largely male world sports management. Along with Wallack’s pitch, Fox secured White’s life rights and Paul Solotaroff’s Men’s Journal article “The Woman Who Bails Out The NFL’s Bad Boys.” Aniston will also serve as one of The Fixer‘s producers.
Aniston last appeared on screen in Peter Bogdanovich’s little seen ensemble comedy She’s Funny That Way. Previously, Aniston starred in the indie Cake, drama in which the former Friends star earned strong reviews and received both Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations. Next, the actress will appear (along with half of Hollywood) in Garry Marshall’s Mother’s Day due in theaters this April. She will flex her dramatic muscles yet again for The Yellow Birds, the Iraq war film also starring Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense), Tye Sherdian (Mud) and Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!). Aniston is also slated to star in Mean Moms with her Horrible Bosses 2 director Sean Anders.
We will stay tuned on future developments regarding The Fixer.
