Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer plan to write a new Fantastic Four film for Marvel in the upcoming. At the Disneys D23 event earlier in the month, Kevin Feige confirmed that Shakman will be the film’s director.
The writing collective, Kaplan and Springer, is new to the scene but has already signed on to a lot of upcoming projects and is quickly emerging into the scene as popular screenwriters. Kaplan and Springer have been involved with the Fantastic Four for a while and have been helping to develop the movie series next steps that fit into Marvel’s Cinematic Universe’s upcoming plans to enter into their next era.
Kaplan, Springer, and Shakman have plans to come together and discuss their expectations for the film before the real screenwriting work begins with the help of Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige as a producer for the film. While working on the script, Shakman and Feige will be working on building the cast.
During this year’s Comic Con, Feige mentioned that the film will kick off Phase 6 of the MCU rollout and is projected to be out in November 2024, followed by Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in May 2025 and Avengers” Secret Wars a few months later.
The project is still in early development, but fans are already excited to turn in for what is next for the Fantastic Four franchise.
