Wes Anderson mainstay Jason Schwartzman is going to be joining a brand new Netflix film from one of the most iconic Parks and Recreation actresses. Schwartzman joins Cherry Jones on the new Amy Poehler comedy Wine Country, according to Deadline. Poehler is making her feature film directorial debut with the Netflix comedy. Netflix has quickly becoming one of the fastest growing film distributors, rivaling even the largest companies in the game. Many actors and actresses have revitalized their careers through Netflix, including Adam Sandler. Poehler looks to continue her strong career with this film.
Wine Country follows the story of a group of friends who travel to Napa to celebrate someone’s 50th birthday. Considering the cast, the film will most likely feature a ton of laughs and a whole lot of shenanigans.
Schwartzman and Jones are are joining a strong cast that includes Poehler, Tina Fey, Emily Spivey, Maya Rudolph, Paula Pell, Rachel Dratch, and Ana Gasteyer. The film features a script from Spivey and Liz Cackowski as Poehler will also be producing alongside the directing. The production has already begun in Los Angeles and will wrap up in Napa. The film could possibly release late this year or early next year.
