The Hollywood Reporter revealed on Friday that Jason Momoa is in final talks with Universal to join the cast of the tenth Fast and Furious installment. Plot details still remain under wraps, but it is possible Momoa will join the cast as one of the film’s main antagonists.
The ninth Fast and Furious film, F9, was released last summer and it seems that development for the next installment is already heavily underway with shooting rumored to begin this spring. Justin Lin is returning to the franchise again for the tenth film to follow up on F9. Franchise regulars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Sung Kang, and Charlize Theron are also all slated to return as well. Diesel and Lin are set to co-produce.
Momoa has had a busy past few years, especially with his role as Aquaman in the DC universe. Aquaman was released in 2018 and its anticipated sequel is set for release in December this year. He also reprised the Aquaman role for Zack Snyder’s Justice League in March of last year as well as starring in the massively popular Dune from director Denis Villeneuve in October.
More details are sure to come as shooting approaches and an official announcement is likely. Fast and Furious 10 is set to release in theaters on May 19, 2023.
