Game of Thrones stud Jason Mamoa has signed on to star in the action thriller Braven.
The story will focus on a logger and his family living up north in the mountains near the U.S.-Canadian border. Trouble arises when a pack of drug dealers stumble upon his cabin forcing him to take action to protect his family.
The thriller will be directed by Lin Oeding, a longtime stunt coordinator who’s credits include Inception, The Dark Knight Rises and Star Trek. As a director, he has helmed a couple of short films and recently began on his first full-length feature film, Brass Knuckles. Thomas Pa’a Sibbett will provide the script, which is based on the original story by Mike Nilson.
Recently joining the DC Comic Universe as the water-dwelling Aquaman, Mamoa has his hands full with his new character. He is set to star as Arthur Curry (a.k.a. Aquaman) in the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and The Justice League Part One along with a standalone Aquaman movie due out in 2018. In the non-comic book movie world, he recently wrapped up production on two movies: Sugar Batch and The Bad Batch. He is currently shooting Going Under opposite Bruce Willis.
Jason Mamoa is producing the film alonside Brian Mendoza and Nilon and Molly Hassell. The production schedule and release date for Braven have not been announced yet.
