Variety has just confirmed the addition of Westworld star, James Marsden, in the upcoming movie based on Sonic The Hedgehog. To be directed by Jeff Fowler in his directorial debut, the film will use a mixture of live-action with CGI. Fowler is previously known for the 2005 Oscar nominated short Gopher Broke.
The film is set to open in theaters November 15, 2019. In the meantime, Marsden continues to appear in HBO’s Westworld, and will voice a character in the animated movie Henchmen.
Sonic was first introduced in 1991, by Sega, as a speedy hedgehog meant to rival Nintendo’s Super Mario Brothers. The cast of characters found in the games include Tails and Knuckles, as well as chief villain, Doctor Eggman Robotnik.
