Actor Jacob Elordi has continued to impress audiences in the last few years after first rising to prominence working on the popular HBO show Euphoria.
He performed in recent films such as Priscilla, where he played world-renowned singer Elvis Presley alongside actress Cailee Spaeny, who played Priscilla Presley, and the film Saltburn, in which he played Felix Catton. The role he has recently booked has been in the works since 2007, Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein.
According to ScreenRant, del Toro has always considered making a reimagining of Frankenstein. These reimaginings have done extremely well, with the Netflix film Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio receiving 96% on Rotten Tomatoes and winning an Oscar in 2023 for Best Animated Feature Film.
Elordi will be playing The Monster of the film, a type of role he has not really taken on before. With this new opportunity, he will have a chance to show his acting range.
He isn’t the only one that will be joining the Frankenstein project, as five other performers have been cast for the film. Oscar Issac (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse), is the only one of the five with a known role, he will be playing Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The other four, Mia Goth (Pearl), Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained), David Bradley (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio) and Lars Mikkelsen (Ahsoka), have been cast, but their roles are unknown.
Currently, the film is in production and no release date has been announced, but many fans are waiting in anticipation to see what Elordi, del Toro, and others will be able to do with the film.
