Fox Searchlight has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Pablo Larrain (No) biopic Jackie, starring Natalie Portman. Audiences were already treated to a scene from the movie after the film premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival, but the teaser takes viewers even further into Portman’s mesmerizing performance as the widowed First Lady.
The film will follow Jacqueline (Onassis) Kennedy during the aftermath of her husband and President of the United States John F. Kennedy’s assassination. The story will chronicle her time of grief, the reclamation of her faith, the consolation of her children, and the arbitration of her husband’s presidential legacy.
Jackie opened to glowing reviews out of Venice and Toronto, especially for Portman’s individual accomplishments. The film also stars Peter Sarsgaard (Jarhead) as Robert Kennedy, Greta Gerwig (Maggie’s Plan), Billy Crudup (Almost Famous), John Hurt (Alien), Richard E. Grant (Penelope), and John Carroll Lynch (Zodiac). Noah Oppenheim (The Maze Runner) wrote the screenplay.
See the teaser below as well as the brand new one-sheet, depicting the dramatic story of Jackie Kennedy in an equally glamorous and haunting fashion. Jackie will open in theaters on December 2.
