Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom) is set to star alongside Mark Wahlberg in the drama Stu. The film will be directed by Rosalind Ross, who is also penning the script.
Weaver is best known for her work in Silver Linings Playbook, and most recently Stage Mother. Weaver also just wrapped up her recurring role in Taylor Sheridan’s hit show, Yellowstone. Currently, Weaver is part of the cast in the sci-fi series Bloom for Australian streaming platform Stan, stars in the noir drama series Perpetual Grace, LTD with Ben Kingsley on Epix, and appears in the television comedy Blunt Talk with Sir Patrick Stewart. She is repped by ICM Partners, Elevate Entertainment and Felker, Toczek, Suddleson, Abramson.
Wahlberg recently wrapped up filming for Sony’s live-action film adaptation of Uncharted and Lionsgate’s film Arthur the King. He is currently working on the biopic drama Joe Bell and the sci-fi action thriller Infinite.
Wahlberg will produce Stu with his producing partner and manager Stephen Levinson along with Jordan Foss. Miky Lee and Colleen Camp will executive produce.
According to Deadline, not much is known about the plot of Stu other than it is a faith-based film loosely based on a true story and Wahlberg states that it is very close to his heart and has been working on it for a many years.
