A new trailer has been released for the historical drama ’71 headlined by Jack O’Connell, the star of the upcoming Angelina Jolie-directed Unbroken. ’71 follows a young British soldier who loses his unit during the Belfast riots of 1971 and finds himself behind enemy lines trying to survive the night.
’71 was actually filmed before Unbroken but is not set to release until February 27, 2015. It’s the first feature film for director Yann Demange, whose main experience up to this point has been in television. Sean Harris (Prometheus) also stars in the film. When ’71 releases, it should be an easy transition for audiences used to seeing O’Connell in a historical drama. Along with Unbroken, The actor is also set to star in Terry Gilliam’s The Man Who Killed Don Quixote and the historical romance Tulip Fever with Christoph Waltz (Big Eyes) and Cara Delevingne (Pan).
