Deadline reports that the trailer for a documentary featuring actress Selma Blair’s fight against multiple sclerosis was released today. Blair spent many years in film and television, playing in roles for the Hellboy movie series and shows such as Lost in Space, American Crime Story, and Anger Management.
Now she will be featured in the true-to-life story of her continuing struggle with multiple sclerosis and navigating life with a disability.
Director Rachel Fleit’s documentary debut for Introducing, Selma Blair on Discovery+ explores a woman’s journey to personal acceptance. The trailer shows that it will follow the actress as she faces the next chapter of her life after being diagnosed with MS.
The film will also explore complex issues, from unpacking beauty myths to the fear around disability and mortality. Blair will be seen undergoing a major transition that forces her to reevaluate her life and discover herself again.
Introducing, Selma Blair will premiere in theaters on Friday, October 15 before launching on Discovery+ on October 21. According to Deadline, the documentary previously premiered at SXSW Online 2021 and won the Special Jury Award for Exceptional Intimacy in Storytelling in the Documentary Feature competition.
