If you follow mxdwn Movies and you’re curious about director Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight series, Memento, Inception), then you probably know a few things about his upcoming film, Interstellar. For those not in the know, Interstellar features a cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway (who worked with Nolan on The Dark Knight Rises), Matt Damon, Michael Caine (another frequent Nolan collaborator), and John Lithgow; the story – based on the limited information available – involves scientists, wormholes, and according to one report, crop harvesting. On December 13, we may finally get some more information when The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug comes to American theaters.
According to a tweet by The Film Stage the trailer will run in theaters before The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and is to run one minute and forty-three seconds. There’s no saying how concrete the information provided in the trailer will be, considering the first trailer for Inception (though visually arresting) was not exactly heavy on plot or character motivation. Any viewers whose interest is piqued by the upcoming trailer will have to wait until November 7, 2014 to see if Interstellar enters the cultural conscious, the way Inception did.
