‘Inside Out 2’ Dominates The Box Office In Its First Weekend With $155 Domestically

The film may show all emotions, but Inside Out 2’s box office debut leans heavily towards the positive feelings. Inside Out 2 has already put itself on track to become the highest opening of 2024.

Back in the mind of young Riley, now a teenager, her old emotions have to learn to coexist with new emotions that immediately begin to complicate matters once they join the group.

The new Pixar film is looking to take home $155 million for the weekend. That total includes a whopping $62 million from the Friday/ early showings the film had.

Compared to the first Inside Out, the sequel is looking to finish its opening weekend ahead of it. The first Inside Out from 2015 took home $90 million for its domestic debut.

As Variety points out, Pixar’s newest endeavor is already eyeing a spot in the top 5 openings for the company. The other four include Toy Story 3 and 4, Incredibles 2, and Finding Dory.

Falling to second place this weekend is Bad Boys: Ride Or Die. With the high competition from Inside Out 2, Ride Or Die is still expected to put up a strong showing with $31.5 million.

Settling in below Bad Boys, Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes continues to stay atop, with a weekend total of $5.4 million. The worldwide total for the film has already pushed past $350 million worldwide.

Fourth for the weekend goes to The Garfield Movie with $5.3 million, with fifth going to IF at $3.6 million.
