Writer-director Emma Forrest may have assembled a sharp ensemble for her upcoming indie relationship drama entitled Untogether. As per The Hollywood Reporter, the film has attracted Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey), Ben Mendelsohn (Mississippi Grind) and real-life sisters Jemima (HBO’s Girls) and Lola Kirke (Mistress America) to headline. Sales for the film are expected to commence at the forthcoming Toronto Film Festival.
In Untogether, Andrea (Jemima Kirke) portrays a former teen smarty-turned-troubled young adult. While driven to become a writer and maintain her sobriety, Andrea embarks on an affair with Nick (Dornan), a ladies man and successful author of a biographical war-time memoir. Meanwhile, Andrea’s younger sister Tara (Lola) begins to rattle after her seemingly rock-solid relationship with an older man (Menelsohn) is threatened by her attraction with a rabbi, who happens to be even older. Production for Untogether is expected to start in October.
The draw might be the ensemble mainly. Dornan, currently on screens in Anthropoid and The 9th Life of Louis Drax, will soon return to the Fifty Shades franchise portraying the steely Christian Grey – the next sequels will open in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Jemima Kirke, best known for her role in the HBO series Girls, is soon set to appear in the indie The Little Hours. Her sister, meanwhile, has been quietly making name for herself with turns in David Fincher’s Gone Girl and last summer’s acclaimed Noah Baumbach feature Mistress America; she also stars in the Amazon series Mozart in the Jungle. Mendelsohn will blast off shortly in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and co-anchors the current festival hit Una opposite Rooney Mara.
