Harrison Ford returns for his iconic role as Indiana Jones in the new film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Disney and Lucasfilm released the trailer Sunday night during the Super Bowl.
Ford takes his iconic role as the adventurer and Phoebe Waller-Bridge co-stars in this James Marigold project. This will be Ford’s fifth film as the famous Indiana Jones, he has starred as the main character in the previous four films directed by Steven Spielberg, Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Temple of Doom (1984), The Last Crusade (1989) and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).
Harrison Ford depicts a younger version of himself for the new film, a decision he was hesitant to say yes to. This was done with de-aging technology.
The Hollywood Reporter writes about Ford’s expression regarding the de-aging technology. “I never loved the idea until I saw how it was accomplished in this case — which is very different than the way it’s been done in other films I’ve seen,” said Ford. “They’ve got every frame of film, either printed or unprinted, of me during 40 years of working with Lucasfilm on various stuff. I can act the scene and they sort through with AI every fucking foot of film to find me in that same angle and light. It’s bizarre and it works and it is my face.”
Indiana Jones: Dial of Destiny will arrive in theaters on June 30. Watch the trailer for the film below!
