The star from The Raid trilogy Iko Uwais has been cast as the villain for the upcoming The Expendables 4. The film doesn’t have an exact release date yet but it will for sure include many of the beloved action movie actors from previous installments.
The plot for The Expendables 4 has not yet been revealed but it will require Iko Uwais to step into a role he hasn’t played before in his career: the villain. All that is known for now is that Iko Uwais will play a former military officer who has become a rich arms dealer with his own private army. The Indonesian actor and martial arts specialist will join the cast of established Hollywood action movie stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, and Dolph Lundgren. The team of veteran warriors who are not ready to retire from explosive action just yet will be joined by stars such as Megan Fox, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Jacob Scipio, and Andy Garcia. According to Looper, Jason Statham will take a much more central role than in previous installments.
Besides The Raid, Iko Uwais is also known for his roles in Paramount’s Snake Eyes, Netflix’s The Wu Assassins series, Night Comes For Us, and Mile 22. The Expendables 4 is set for release in late 2022 or early 2023, depending on how long post-production takes for such an action-packed title.
