I Know What You Did Last Summer is a 1997 horror slasher. Now it is 2025 and a killer is still on the loose. And the cast is getting a reboot except for two characters who starred in the original. Both Jennifer-Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are reprising their roles for the upcoming film. Both made appearances in the trailer.
The original saw Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Johnny Galecki join Love-Hewitt and Prinze Jr as part of an accident that caused the death or alleged death of a stranger. After that the group is terrorized because of the events that took place, you guessed it, last summer. Unfortunately, Gellar, Phillippe and Galecki all met their demise by the hook wielding killer but Prinze Jr. and Love-Hewitt managed to escape.
Variety gathered the actors that will accompany the two survivors, the list includes Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Lola Tung, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Austin Nichols, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, Jonah Hauer-King, Billy Campbell and Gabbriette. The new film is categorized as a direct sequel to the original and shows a hook holding killer terrorizing the group of newcomers. Joining the film behind the cameras are director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who also co wrote the script alongside Sam Lansky.
