Billie Eilish’s concert movie, Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour, comes to Paramount+ thursday August 6th. The film is of her tour that ran from September 2024 to November 2025 for the album of the same name. It was directed by James Cameron (Avatar) and co-directed by Billie Eilish, marking this movie as her directorial debut. The album originally released May 17th of 2024 featuring songs like Birds of a Feather and Wildflower.
In an interview with MTV, Eilish talked about why she was filming the tour.
She stated, “Filming a show can be so grueling.. you have to make all these compromises and it takes a lot of time and I didn’t want to change anything about the show or tarnish the experience at all. So I think when James [Cameron] came to me with the idea, it was such a unique idea that didn’t just seem like a concert film, which I wasn’t really interested in doing, and it seemed like something more and something I’ve never done and was very appealing.”
The film was shot using 3D cameras that captures all angles of Eilish’s performances as well as a lot of fan reactions. In the rest of the interview Eilish talks about how different it felt to be able to co-direct the film with Cameron and how much her fans mean to her.
