A Billie Eilish concert documentary is heading to theaters on March 20th, 2026. The film captures her 2024-2025 Hit Me Hard and Soft tour and is co-directed by Eilish and James Cameron, the filmmaker behind the blockbusters Titanic and Avatar.
Eilish announced the project on Instagram, writing:
HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE IN 3D) coming to theatres on march 20th 2026 !!!! 🥳🥳🥳 this has been one of my favorite tours everrrrrr and being able to capture it and co-direct this film with @jamescameronofficial has truly been a dream come true. can’t wait for you all to see it :’)🎥⭐️🤭💙
The nine-time Grammy and two-time Oscar winner earned widespread acclaim throughout the tour. Billboard described her one of three Madison Square Garden sets as “some of the best and most adventurous pop music of the last half-decade.”
The project was first teased in July when Eilish revealed she was collaborating with Cameron on a 3D film. She joked, “So don’t mind that, and also I’ll probably be wearing this exact outfit for like four days in a row.”
Eilish’s brother, Finneas, is also involved, with Darkroom Records, Interscope Films and Lightstorm Entertainment responsible for the film’s production.
Cameron, who recently made headlines for commenting that Netflix’s theatrical strategy is “rotten to the core,” joined Eilish and Paramount to bring the concert documentary to theaters.
