The first movie adaptation of this game was presented to American audiences on December 23, 1994 – with action stars like Jean-Claude Van Damme as Col. Guile and the late Raul Julia as the evil dictator of Shadaloo, Gen. Bison, – which harvested mixed reviews with an 11% on Rotten Tomatoes, but still built a nostalgic campy cult following despite a 20% from audiences. News of this resurrection drew sighs of concern or groans of doubt but digital buzz echoes gasps of excitement and intrigue.

The scene begins with a classic Ryu fist clench, Ken’s sweaty silhouette, and Chun-Li standing centered in frame as she enters a room – all merely within the first second of the trailer, then follows flashes of each of the renowned video game’s main characters highlighted by a vivid filter, followed by exhilarating fight sequences involving them all. Eric Andre’s Don Sauvage is seen dancing a jig on camera, then concluding with Ken’s celebratory victory car smash, followed by the words, “YOU WIN” as portrayed in the video game.
