Hasbro Confirmed Four More ‘Transformers’ Sequels Are On the Way

Hasbro executive vice president Stephen Davis announced upcoming plans for the Transformers franchise that includes four new films. Davis recently spoke at the MIP Junior Conference 2015 where he highlighted their plans for the franchise.

Davis said they recently spent a total of three months time planning the next ten years of the franchise. Among those in the planning session was academy award-winning writer Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind). “Transformers 5 is on its way…and and and 8,” Davis assured.

The news isn’t a surprise as the previous film, Transformers: Age of Extinction,  grossed more than $1.1 billion worldwide with a large portion coming from Chinese markets. As the success continues, Hasbro will likely continue to turn out films in the franchise for the foreseeable future.

Transformers 5 is set to release in 2017. You can watch the full interview below. Davis goes into details about the writing session at the 13:38 mark.

Tyler Lyon: When Tyler isn't thinking about the lack of a Canadian presence in D2: The Mighty Ducks, whether Princess Leia can now be considered a Disney Princess or discovering 8-bit classics on his 3DS, he's cheering on the Cubs, Bulls, Bears, Blackhawks, and Hawkeyes.
