The trials against Harvey Weinstein continue. The judge presiding over the current case has declared a mistrial on one charge, but has been found guilty on two other counts.
The allegations against Weinstein date back many years, and have been the subject of countless headlines. This case in particular covers charges from three parties; Jessica Mann, Miriam Haley, and Kaja Sokola. Mann accuses a situation going back to 2013, Haley back to 2006, and Sokola alleging two instances, one from 2002 and one from 2006.
As far as Haley goes, Variety reports that Weinstein was found guilty and charged with committing a criminal sexual act against her. As Sokola goes, he was acquitted on the grounds of sexually assaulting her. The ruling judge over this case was Curtis Farber.
However, when it comes to Mann, a verdict wasn’t decided on quite as unanimously. As reports go, the jury struggled to come to a conclusion, taking so long that Judge Farber had to step in to halt the debate. The result was the declaration of a mistrial.
“I will never give up on myself and making sure my voice – and the truth – is heard. I have told the District Attorney I am ready, willing and able to endure this as many times as it takes for justice and accountability to be served,” Mann herself said to Variety. She went on to emphasize that this roadblock will not be enough to stop her in the long run.
