Just following her directorial debut with Netflix’s Bruised, actor, producer, and director Halle Berry has entered into a multi film contract with Netflix. According to The Hollywood Reporter, two films have been confirmed with Berry in front of the camera: sci-fi film The Mothership and action film Our Man From Jersey, alongside Mark Wahlberg.
Bruised debuted on Netflix on Nov. 17 and was ranked the #1 film in the US and the #2 film globally. The film stars Berry as a dishonored MMA fighter who must conquer her demons and raise her son, Manny, played by Danny Boyd Jr.
According to Variety, Berry said in regards to Netflix film head Scott Stuber and co-CEO Ted Sarandos, “My directorial debut, Bruised, was a labor of love and I knew that Scott and Ted would treat it with great care.”
Stuber replied, “There are few people with a career like Halle Berry. She’s an award winning actress, producer and as audiences saw this past week, she’s an incredible director. We’re thrilled to be in her corner as she delivers power in front of and behind the camera in Bruised and look forward to telling more stories together.”
Don’t miss Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson, Donald Sutherland, and more is Roland Emmerich’s Moonfall, set to premiere on Feb. 4, 2022.
