A second official trailer for Chris Hemsworth’s new action thriller, Crime 101, has been released and sees the Marvel star in a role he’s usually fighting against: a high-grade thief.
The feature, which hails from Amazon MGM Studios, is directed by Bart Layton, who adapted a screenplay from Don Winslow’s 2010 novella of the same name, and is also credited as a producer alongside Hemsworth. The Thor star is joined on the big screen by Mark Ruffalo, marking the first collaboration between the two outside the MCU; Halle Berry; Barry Keoghan; Monica Barbaro; Corey Hawkins; Nick Nolte; and Jennifer Jason Leigh. The rest of the supporting cast is rounded out by Tate Donovan, Devon Bostick, Payman Maadi, Babak Tafti, Paul Adelstein, Drew Powell, and Matthew Del Negro.
Though Ruffalo and Hemsworth have collaborated before, this marks the first time working together for Berry and Hemsworth. During a discussion of the movie at CinemaCon in April 2025, Berry expressed her appreciation for the action star, sharing that he had her back throughout filming; in return, she’ll have him for the rest of his life. Berry added,
[He’s] a stand-up guy. I won’t go into it now, but he stood up for me in a moment in our movie, and instantly I knew right then I’m gonna follow this guy, be a fan of this guy for the rest of his life because he stood up for a woman.
While the situation Berry is talking about remains unknown, in a later interview on the same day during the red carpet of CinemaCon, Berry elaborated a little, stating, “He didn’t have to do it, and he did it.” This statement gives little away, but it is clear that is what Berry’s intention is. Either way, it seems these two Hollywood stars have made a new pal for life, and this film might mark the first of many collaborations between the pair if Hemsworth’s own statements about Berry are anything to go by. With the Australian actor saying about the X-Men star,
I’ve admired Halle’s work for many, many years. I was obviously very intimidated to sit opposite her within a scene and try and, you know, not just be in awe of what she was doing. People bring out not just the best in you, but also a comfort level where it does feel like it’s a place to explore and to examine different ideas, try different things. That was the experience. I loved every second of it.
Crime 101 is set to release in theaters on February 13th, 2026. Check out the movie’s synopsis below:
Set against the sun-bleached grit of Los Angeles, Crime 101 weaves the tale of an elusive thief (Hemsworth) whose high-stakes heists unfolding along the iconic 101 freeway have mystified police. When he eyes the score of a lifetime with hopes of this being his final job, his path collides with a disillusioned insurance broker (Berry) who is facing her own crossroads, forcing the two to collaborate.
Determined to crack the case, a relentless detective (Ruffalo) closes in on the operation, raising the stakes even higher. As the multimillion-dollar heist approaches, the line between hunter and hunted begins to blur, and all three are forced to confront the cost of their choices–and the realization that there’s no turning back.
