Halle Bailey Posts First Glimpse as Ariel in Live-Action ‘Little Mermaid’

Just two days ago, the star of the upcoming live-action Little Mermaid posted stunning sunset picture on the ocean on her Instagram. Halle Bailey commemorates the film ending production and reflects on her time working on it. This is the first look we are getting from the 21-year-old actress as the beloved Disney princess and fans are excited to see more from her in the next year.

Bailey writes a heartfelt caption for her post: “and just like that… that’s a wrap ❤️ after auditioning for this film when i was 18 just about to turn 19 , to now finishing filming through a pandemic when i turned 21 ..we have finally made it…💖i feel so grateful to have experienced this film in all of its glory..it has been the toughest experience being away from everything and everyone i’ve ever known, to feeling self doubt/loneliness, but also feeling such freedom and perseverance as i’ve reached the end…”

She also gives a warm shoutout to her talented costars Jonah Hauer King (Prince Eric), Jacob Tremblay (Flounder), Javier Bardem (King Triton), Melissa McCarthy (Ursula), Awkwafina (Scuttle), and Daveed Diggs (Sebastian), for welcoming her on board and being a wonderful group to work with. Bailey ends with enthusiasm for the film, wanting the world to see just how much love was poured into the making.
