Actress Hailee Steinfeld (Romeo & Juliet) is poised to take the young adult world by storm with a pair of films she’s lined up, including the most recent announcement, according to The Hollywood Reporter, of her being cast in an adaptation of Carrie Pilby. Based off a 2003 novel by Caren Lissner, the story follows a 19 year-old genius as she graduates from Harvard and must learn how to function in the adult world.
Carrie Pilby is set to begin filming in May, and will be directed by producer Susan Johnson (Mean Creek), making her feature debut.
Steinfeld was also cast in Dustin Lance Black’s The Statistical Probability of Falling in Love, which has also yet to begin principal photography. Leading up to these roles, Steinfeld is still reaping the benefits of her work in 2014. This past year she starred in The Keeping Room, Barely Lethal, and Ten Thousand Saints – all three of which will see expanded releases in 2015. This year she will also be appearing in the sequel Pitch Perfect 2, as well as starring alongside Vince Vaughn in Term Life.
