‘Goon: Last of the Enforcers’ Punches Us in the Face in New Trailer

Hockey is an aggressive sport, with fights becoming a commonality in many professional and amateur games. Goon: Last of the Enforcers looks to take that part of hockey and make it an integral part to their main character as seen in this new trailer:

Seann William Scott (Role Models, American Wedding) plays Doug “The Thug” Glatt, the superstar hockey player for the Halifax Highlanders. After taking an extremely hard hit which keeps him from playing, Glatt decides to retire and try normal life as his child will be born soon. After finding out that one of the players fighting for Glatt’s top spot in the league is traded to the Highlanders, he decides to make his return to regain his former glory.

Scott has quite the supporting cast behind him, including Elisha Cuthbert (24, The Girl Next Door), T.J. Miller (How to Train Your Dragon, Deadpool), Wyatt Russell (22 Jump Street, Everybody Wants Some!!), Liev Schreiber (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Spotlight), and Alison Pill (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Snowpiercer). Jay Baruchel — a Canadian actor and avid hockey fan — will be making his feature directorial debut with the film. He is known mainly for his role as Hiccup from the How to Train Your Dragon franchise.

Goon: Last of the Enforcers will be skating into theaters September 1, 2017.
