Martin Campbell is fresh off directing his action film The Foreigner, and he is already preparing to direct his new film, Ana. He has signed on an amazing star to play what is believed the main role. Gong Li has officially joined the cast for the film, which is centered in Europe, according to Variety. Li is an extremely experienced actress, with her films varying widely in plot and characters including Memoirs of a Geisha, Miami Vice, Farewell My Concubine, Hannibal Rising, and 2046.
The film will focus on what we can assume is Ana and her hacker team, which steal millions of dollars from a crime syndicate leader. They are forced into hiding to train in an attempt to stave off the syndicate from killing them.
Campbell will have a fantastic supporting team behind him, with Richard Wenk writing the script. Wenk has a strong set of writing credits for films like The Equalizer, The Expendables 2, and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. The film is being produced by Arthur Sarkissian and Bruno Wu. Sarkissian most recently worked with Campbell on The Foreigner, and has produced the popular comedy trilogy Rush Hour. Wu is an investor who co-founded Peak Time Entertainment with Sarkissian. We are extremely excited for The Foreigner, and are now anxious to see if Ana can bring us the same action and excitement.
