‘Gone Girl’ meets ‘Girl On The Train’ in Lionsgate’s ‘A Simple Favor’ First Trailer

It’s two movies in one as Lionsgate’s latest thriller stars Pitch Perfect’s Anna Kendrick and Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively in A Simple Favor.

The story is simple — two mothers start to form a friendship as they connect during a series of play dates. Mommy blogger Stephanie begins to discover secrets about her friend Emily when Emily disappears suddenly, causing her to solve the mystery of what happened.

Based on the bestseller of the same title by Darcy Bell, the film follows the same twisty thrills as previous thrillers that takes its audience through a series of riddles. Paul Feig of Bridesmaids adapted and directed the film.

Though the film isn’t scheduled to come out in theaters until September, both Kendrick and Lively have taken to promoting the movie through social media. Lively has even done a mystery delete on her Instagram account, bringing the question of a disappearance to the forefront and mirroring that of her character in the movie.
