Warner Bros has unfortunately run into some trouble earlier this year, as Godzilla: King of the Monsters underperformed at the box office. The highly anticipated monster film was another big step into Warner Bros’ cinematic universe featuring the iconic giant movie monsters.
With King of the Monsters underperforming at $386 million dollars worldwide on a $170 million dollar budget, many assumed Warner Bros would delay their next film in this cinematic universe, Godzilla vs. Kong, which was initially set for a March 2020 release date. However, with no trailer and following the aftermath of a box office flop, many expected the film to not come out next year. Now Warner Bros have officially announced their film’s delay.
Now the face off between the two most iconic giant monsters of all time will be release on November 20th, 2020. It’s also assumed that the upcoming monster bash will be reworked in response to criticisms that King of the Monsters received. Hopefully this upcoming brawl between the king of the monsters and king of the jungle will end up satisfying longtime monster movie fans. Now that the director and crew have more time to work on their project, hopefully Godzilla and Kong’s epic battle will live up to the hype.
Godzilla vs. King Kong is set for release November 20th 2020.
