On January 1, the official Scream franchise X account marked the new year with an eerie teaser. Captioned, “We have some catching up to do, Sidney,” the clip shows Ghostface stabbing through a list of resolutions, including “Sharpen the knife every night” and “Always be prepared.”

The teaser follows the Scream 7 trailer released by Paramount and Spyglass in October 2025, which confirmed that Neve Campbell will return as the original Sidney Prescott. Courteney Cox is also set to reprise her role as journalist Gale Weathers.

Fans will recognize the iconic score featured in the teaser, composed by Marco Beltrami, who returns to the franchise after a 15-year hiatus. Other Ghostface resolutions include “Call old friends more,” “Make new friends,” and “Do more cardio.”

Original Scream writer Kevin Williamson is co-directing the film from a script he co-wrote with Ready or Not screenwriter Guy Busick. James Vanderbilt also receives a story credit alongside Busick.

In addition to Campbell and Cox, the ensemble cast includes Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Tim Simons and Mark Consuelos.

Scream 7 is produced by William Sherak, Vanderbilt and Paul Neinstein, and is slated to hit theaters on February 27.
