The world lost another icon in legendary actor/director Gene Wilder. It was reported that Wilder passed away due to complications of Alzheimer’s disease. News of his death has begun to spread world wide, displaying a true testament to the Willy Wonka star’s influence.
In addition to the iconic performance in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Wilder was known for his roles in Mel Brooks classics The Producers, Blazing Saddles, and Young Frankenstein. Wilder went on to write and direct The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes’ Smarter Brother and other projects. Brooks shared his thoughts on Wilder’s death through Twitter:
