Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman is taking Maze Runner star, Dylan O’Brien, under his wing in the latest gangster movie, The Bayou. The film, which is being shopped to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival, follows the leading hitman of a crime syndicate, Tickie Bordeaux (Oldman), who takes on an apprentice, Ceto (O’Brien), in order to teach him the trade. All is well until the harmonica playing Ceto meets a teenage girl who is at risk of being trafficked as a slave and has to decide which path to take.
The film is set to begin shooting in New Orleans this summer under Millennium, from Point Break scribe W Peter Iliff. Homefront director Gary Fleder will be helming the project alongside producers Avi Lerner (The Expendibles), and Rob Van Norden (Olympus has Fallen).
The following film is of new territory for both Oldman and O’Brien; however, interested buyers are intrigued by the combination.
More details will be announced as it becomes known.
