

As reported by Variety, on Friday, January 31st, the full winners were announced for the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. Awards were handed out by the pedigreed juries which included names such as Celine Song and Elijah Wood. In a statement given before the awards, Sundance interim CEO Amanda Kel, quoting Sundance founder Robert Redford, stated “Storytelling is important, part of human continuity”

The most important awards to look at are the much-coveted Grand Jury Awards, as many past Grand Jury winners ended up becoming major Oscar players, including Beasts of the Southern Wild, Minari, Whiplash, and Best Picture Winner CODA. This year, the Grand Jury honors went to Atropia and Plainclothes, and Dylan O’Brian winning the acting Grand Jury for Twinless.
