Frank Grillo (Captain America: Civil War) and Taryn Manning (Orange Is the New Black) have joined the cast for the upcoming thriller The Gateway. The rest of the cast includes the likes of Olivia Munn, Shea Whigham, Bruce Dern and Zach Avery. Alexander Felix is the writer for the project.
Directed by Emmy nominated director Michele Civetta, the film focuses on a social worker named Parker who is tasked with taking care of the daughter of a single mother.
This is yet another booking in Grillo’s already packed schedule. The project details what fight culture looks like around the world. He is also working again with Netflix on the Joe Lynch-directed film Point Black featuring Anthony Mackie, Teyonah Parris, and Marcia Gay Harden. Grillo will be starring alongside Mel Gibson and Naomi Watts in another thriller titled Boss Level. He is also set to produce this film. He is currently working on The Hitman’s Bodyguard sequel The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard which stars Ryan Reynolds, Morgan Freeman, and Samuel L. Jackson. The first film of the franchise generated $176 million at the global box office.
