Actors Morgan Freeman and Florence Pugh are set to star in the upcoming film A Good Person, which is written and directed by Golden Globe-nominee Zach Braff. The film will tell the story of Allison (Florence Pugh), whose life begins to crash down after she is involved in a fatal car accident. She is extremely depressed, and it is the unlikely relationship that she forms with her would-be father-in-law (Morgan Freeman) that makes her life worth living.
According to Deadline, this will be Freeman and Braff’s first film together since 2017’s Going In Style, which Braff also directed. The Warner Brothers remake made $85M at the global box office in 2017. Braff most recently directed the Apple show Ted Lasso, while Freeman is currently in post on the upcoming action-comedy The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard.
Pugh is known for huge films such as Little Women and Midsommar and she has many projects coming up, including Disney+’s Hawkeye series, Marvel’s Black Widow and Olivia Wilde’s New Line thriller Don’t Worry Darling.
Freeman and Pugh are both represented by CAA. Braff is represented by CAA and Management 360 and attorney Ken Richman at Hansen Jacobson.
A Good Person is currently being introduced to buyers at the Berlin film market. Rocket Science is handling international sales, and CAA Media Finance is arranging financing and will represent the film’s domestic distribution rights.
