A24 has released the first trailer for their upcoming horror film Slayground. The film follows scare-actor “Metal Mike” Graves who wakes up at a scare attraction surrounded by his dead coworkers and covered in blood with no memory of the night. Mike must discover the truth for himself before the authorities close in on him.
In the trailer, we see the opening of the scare attraction “Slayground” which then ends terribly for everyone involved. Mike ends up being the prime suspect for the murders that night, with one person in the trailer saying, “You were discovered at the scene…covered in blood.” As Mike races to figure out what actually happened, he comes to several realizations himself. At one point he exclaims, “Oh my god…I was there.”
Slayground is written and directed by Jeremy Saulnier, who previously helmed Green Room and Rebel Ridge. It stars Cory Michael Smith (Gotham, Saturday Night) as Mike. The supporting cast is filled out by Chase Sui Wonders, Stanley Simons, Sophie Wilde, Young Mazino, Imogen Poots, Matty Matheson, James Badge Dale and Stephen Root. A24 is producing and distributing. The film releases in theaters on January 29. Watch the full trailer below.
