The first set of photos has been revealed for the upcoming Lilo and Stitch 2, the sequel to the 2025 live-action remake of the 2002 Disney movie of the same name. The set photos offer the first look at Maia Kealoha’s return as Lilo. The photos were posted on X (formerly Twitter) and are available here. The set photos also feature the practical stand-in puppet for Angel, a character from later entries in the Lilo and Stitch franchise who is set to appear in this live-action sequel. However, the photos featuring the Angel puppet have since been taken down.

This sequel follows the immense success of the 2025 remake. The film grossed over $1 billion and attracted 14.5 million global views in its first five days after its September 2025 Disney+ release.

First details on this Lilo and Stitch live-action sequel, including the appearance of Angel, were announced at this year’s D23. Dean Fleischer Camp, who directed the predecessor, won’t return. Instead, Chris Sanders, who voiced Stitch in the original 2002 film and the 2025 remake, will write and direct the sequel. Producer Jonathan Eirich, who produced the 2025 remake, is returning to produce this sequel. The only other confirmed returning stars, besides Maia Kealoha as Lilo, are Sydney Agudong as Nani and Chris Sanders as Stitch.

Disney currently has this Lilo and Stitch live-action sequel scheduled to release on May 26, 2028.
