First Trailer for Netflix’s Next Animated Feature ‘Arlo the Alligator Boy’

Netflix has gotten quite the reputation when it comes to releasing new animated films.  Due to how easily accessible their films are as streaming services go and how they manage to give a ton of creative freedom to the artists working on their films, Netflix has become a big powerhouse in the animation industry. Now Netflix has another animated film on the horizon, this time a smaller 2-D Animated Musical adventure from Titmouse Inc. known as Arlo the Alligator Boy. The first trailer for the film has been released fairly recently.

The film centers on a young kid named Arlo and as the title would suggest, he is half human, half alligator hybrid. After learning about a long kept secret that he has a father, Arlo decides to leave his home swamp to go to New York City to find his dad. Along the way, he runs into a variety of different colorful characters that assist him on his incredible journey in this bright upbeat musical adventure.

The film certainly seems to very child friendly with a lot of bright wide eyed designs and tons of colors in the background. The 2D Animation does make for an impressive looking movie at the very least thanks to the hard work done at Titmouse. The film is also set to have a series to premiere shortly after on Netflix known as I Heart Arlo. With a series in line and some good first impression with its visuals, Arlo the Alligator Boy, certainly gives the impression that this is another visually unique animated film to look out for thanks to Netflix.

Arlo the Alligator Boy is set to release on Netflix April 16th 2021

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
