First Trailer For Michael Jackson Biopic ‘Michael’ Releases Online

A first look into a new biopic has just been revealed. The first trailer for Michael dropped online.

Michael follows the story of music legend Michael Jackson. From his early days with his family as the Jackson Five, up to his solo career and launch into stardom, Michael showcases the life Jackson had, and how far he had to go to gain the name he made for himself. The film is helmed by Equalizer director Antoine Fuqua, with a script written by John Logan.

The main role of Michael himself is actually played by Jackson’s own nephew, Jaafar Jackson. Only 29 years old, Michael will mark Jaafar’s first acting role, as his work up until now has been confined mostly to music. Colman Domingo and Nia Long will be playing Jackson’s parents, with the Jackson Five rounded out by Joseph David-Jones, Jamal Henderson, Rhyan Hill, and Trey Horton.

The trailer itself shows the different times in Michael’s life that the film will focus on. Plenty of time is spent showing the days of the Jackson Five, and their father pushing them to attain their success. When it comes to his solo career, the trailer hits on some of Michael’s most iconic moments, including his iconic moonwalk, and even a quick glimpse at Jaafar in the full getup from the Thriller music video.

Michael hits theaters April 24th. Check out the trailer below.
