First Poster and Promo Photos Revealed for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2’

Jennifer Lawrence, star of the upcoming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2the series’ final installment, revealed the above image via her Twitter account in anticipation of the film’s fall release. The still is tease for what is to come in the final film, which, as fans of the YA novels know, centers around an all-out war with The Capitol. Lawrence appears as heroine Katniss Everdeen accompanied by Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Evan Ross as cameraman Messalla, and Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair.

Mockingjay – Part 2 will pick up right where Part 1 left off. Katniss has just gotten her partner and love interest Peeta Mellark—played by Josh Hutcherson—back from being brainwashed by The Capitol. Now she must help him find his way back to his old self while preparing to go into battle with District 13 as the now fully-fledged symbol of the revolution: the Mockingjay.

The film’s first theatrical poster, released by Mockingjay – Part 2‘s official Twitter, is a direct twist on Part 1‘s visual. The new poster (on the right) represents the renegade movement being carried out by District 13. Their organized yet grassroots rebellion has the strength to crumble a regime once set in stone. If anything, we can be sure that things are not looking up for President Snow (Donald Sutherland).

Josh Hutcherson also took to Twitter to reassure fans of his character’s well-being when the franchise returns to theaters. The image below features a much healthier Peeta than we saw in the frantic closing scene of Part 1. Despite his physical readiness for combat, Peeta will be battling some inner demons imposed on him by President Snow and The Capitol throughout much of the final film.

Mockingjay – Part 2 opens in theaters on November 20, 2015. Check back soon for the film’s first trailer. We can likely expect it any time now while promotion kicks into high gear.
