First Photo of ‘It: Chapter 2’ Adult Cast Revealed

Much like its 2017 predecessor, It: Chapter 2 will also feature a large ensemble cast of characters, but with a twist. While the sequel is a continuation of the Loser Club’s fight against Pennywise the Clown (Bill Skarsgard), it will also involve a 27 year-gap. This focus on the adult Losers shows a recognition of Stephen King’s source material, which alternated its chapters between the eras of childhood and adulthood. The 1990 TV miniseries attempted something similar with its narrative, but most people regard that half of the adaption as less engaging than the childhood storyline.

Now Warner Bros has released its first photo of the actors signed on to play adult versions of the Derry kids. The list, posted on Twitter, includes Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh, Bill Hader as Richie Tozier, James McAvoy as Bill Denbrough, Jay Ryan as Ben Hanscom, James Ransone as Eddie Kaspbrak, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike Hanlon, and Andy Bean as Stanley Uris. The photo shows all seven actors gathered together for a table read, and judging by their reactions I’d say there’s already a sign of good chemistry.

It Chapter 2 will be released on September 6, 2019. The film will follow the adult Losers who, having suppressed their encounter with Pennywise from their memories, have gone on to have successful careers. However, when a string of disappearances begin happening in Derry, Maine, the former friends will reunite to defeat “It” once and for all.
