First Official Trailer Of ‘Dune: Part Two’ Is Finally Here

Today the first trailer of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two was officially released. The sci-fi sequel is expected to open in theaters this November. Dune is based on the novel of the same name written by Frank Herbert. The first novel was initially published in 1965, and later on, several sequels were also published. The story is centered on Paul Atreides, the young heir of Arrakis, which is the only source of the Spice Melange that extends life and mental abilities.

The first film follows the start of this war. Dune: Part Two continues Paul’s journey with Chani and the Fremen. Paul will have to choose between love and the universe’s fate. Also, his journey leans towards revenge.

We can first glimpse the film’s scenery and characters in the trailer. In its generous 2:34 minutes, new characters are revealed, performed by Florence Pugh and Austin Butler. The trailer was revealed before during the Cinemacon in Las Vegas. Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet and Villeneuve were there.

Zendaya said about her character:

“She’s not just in dreams this time. I only got a small time to find out who she was [in Part One]. … These are still two young people who are trying to grow up, fall in love and leave, being a warrior for your people.”

Villeneuve stated:

Part Two is an epic war movie, much more dense. We visited Arakis. We visit new locations; everything is new in the film. In the first movie, we shot 40% in Imax — this time it’s full Imax.”

The first installment won six Academy Awards and had a Best Picture nomination. Dune: Part Two will hit theaters on November 3. Take a look at the trailer below.
